Strategic Planning
TRINIUM offers multiple consulting services that assist design and construction firms with their critical Strategic Planning process.  Based on the philosophy that Strategic Planning is a formal four-step process, TRINIUM is able to assist these firms with multiple tasks throughout this procedure.

The four steps in the Strategic Planning process are:

                 1.     Perform Research
                 2.     Participate in a Planning Session
                 3.     Communicate Outcomes
                 4.     Monitor Progress

Below are the specific areas within these four steps in which TRINIUM can assist firms to develop and implement their Strategic Plan.

Internal Research - Prior to having a formal strategic planning session, research within the firm itself must be performed.  Employee surveys that provide insight into the firm's strengths and weaknesses - including perceived ones -can also expose untapped personnel strengths as well as potential knowledge gaps among employees.  In addition, the "facts and figures" of the firm need to be analyzed with the appropriate firm principals to determine successes and failures of various division, services, market sectors, and personnel.  TRINIUM staff can help with all these required services during the Internal Research portion of the strategic planning process.

Internal Research
External Research
External Research - In addition to performing Internal Research, firms going through the strategic planning process must also perform External Research.  TRINIUM staff can help by developing and administering surveys to current and potential clients to gauge the strengths and weaknesses (both perceived and actual) of the firm.  In addition, market research including extensive competitor analysis and market/industry trends can also be provided by TRINIUM as part of the services offered during the strategic planning process.

Facilitation of Planning Sessions -  A formal planning session is a necessary step in formalizing a Strategic Plan.  With a planning session personally led by TRINIUM's President, William R. Long, PE, LEEDAP, the conversation will include thoughtful and stimulating discussions together with insightful follow-up questions - all while collective decision making is encouraged.  Complete services include assisting the firm with establishing the discussion topics and agenda for the formal session, leading the actual process, and facilitating that discussion.  Most importantly, the firm will be assisted with developing, recognizing, and capitalizing on the firm's unique Strategic Competitive Advantage(s).

Facilitation of Planning Session
Strategic Planning Follow-up
Strategic Planning Follow-up - The Strategic Planning process does not end after the formal planning session.  The plan needs to be implemented by the firm and monitored.  TRINIUM can help with both activities.  In order to communicate the plan, the firm's Strategic Competitive Advantages must be confirmed and communicated both internally and externally - both of which can be done by TRINIUM staff.  In addition, once the plan is in process, it must be monitored and evaluated.  Through objective evaluation and reporting, TRINIUM will evaluate the success of the plan's implementation and suggest possible revisions so that the firm can achieve the maximum benefit from the process.
